Bugging Fetish

2024 - ongoing
Bugging Fetish explores firearms through the dual meaning of the word "fetish." This term refers to an object of cultural significance believed to possess magical powers for protection or assistance, as well as to a sexual fixation on an object or body part for satisfaction or expression.
The works combine the textural sensuality of materials such as black leather, black flocking, black latex, and gold leaf with socially charged themes related to guns and fetish sexuality. These elements are further enhanced with scroll patterns inspired by gun embellishments, applied to surfaces in a manner reminiscent of tattoos.
Ants serve as a visual and conceptual middle ground in this exploration. Visually, they appear as neutral images and patterns alongside weapon, sexual, and religious imagery. Conceptually, ants can represent both destruction and decay, as well as cooperation and unity.
